"Fifteen times I retraced my steps, then, under hypnosis, I pushed the door, paid cash, and had it delivered to my home," Gainsbourg wrote in November 1976 in a press release revealing the object of the inspiration for his new album. Today considered as "the other" masterpiece of Serge Gainsbourg's discography alongside 'The History of Melody Nelson', 'L'Homme à tête de chou' had not yet revealed all it's secrets. Nearly 45 years after it's release, the rediscovery of the multi-track tapes recorded in London in the middle of the summer of 1976 confirms the obvious: behind Gainsbourg's virtuoso talk-over was an extraordinary musical edifice.
